Mike Polifko
Boys Team Coach

Coach Mike started his gymnastics career at the age of 4 and grew to be a highly successful competitive gymnast.  He started coaching at the age of 20 and has since produced numerous state and regional champions.  He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Education from George Mason University and his Master’s in Education from The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia where he focused his studies and research on Motor Learning and Exercise Physiology.

Coach Mike has served as an adjunct professor at George Mason University and is currently a Physical Education teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools.  He has published several journal articles relating to how vision training enhances the sport learning environment through the use of various forms of technology and is consistantly striving to create the most optimum and efficient learning environment for all of his students.  His hobbies include photography, playing guitar and spending every available minute at home with his wife and two children.
